January 2007 - Rider Spotlight - Josh "meadows" Meadows |
 |
|
|
|
What’s your name, age and where are you from?
Josh Meadows / 25 / Mt. Juliet, TN
Favorite food and drink while on the lake?
Food would have to be Doc Burgers at Fate Sanders / Diet Mountain Dew to help me watch my figure and get pumped to ride, and cool crisp Bud Light in the evening to take away the pain.
Where do you normally wakeboard?
Typically up river Priest and Center Hill occasionally.
Do you have a boat, or a favorite wakeboard boat?
I have an 02' WakeSetter and I must add that owning a Malibu has made be a better rider. If you haven't ridden behind one and you think your boat is best you are a victim of fancy marketing and price gouging or you scared of the monstrous clean wake they produce.
How long have you been wakeboarding?
3 years full time. It took me a while to quit pursuing my professional tubing career.
How did you get into wakeboarding?
I grew up on slalom and trick skies and just got board with that. So I got a directional latched on to my parents sweet outboard runabout at 50' off and never looked back.
Who do you normally ride with?
As most know it is usually Mullis, Taylor Lytle and myself. We do enjoy the company of others but most do not like the idea of 7:00 am sets on Saturday. Just ask Troy!
What board and bindings do you ride?
Right now CWB Marius 135 with Nice Bindings.
What speed and rope length do you ride at?
My boat about 22-23 at 75'
What’s your favorite trick to see or do?
Big Backrolls are my signature
What tricks are you working on now?
Trying to get my toe-side fronts consistent and spins.
What’s your favorite thing about wakeboarding?
Just being on the water.
Ever competed in any of the tournaments?
Just about all of them last year INT's, BoardBonanza, and Wakefest.
What goals do you have for yourself this year in wakeboarding?
Consistency on Inverts + Spins + 2 more inverts + Railies = Hospital or Successful season. We'll wait and see.
What kind of music do you like to listen to when you ride?
Mostly metal, classic rock, and bluegrass on those early morning rides. Tends not to piss off the fishermen quite as much. God knows I don't want to catch a treble hook in the Jugular.
What do you like to do when your not wakeboarding?
Wax the boat, snow board in the off-season, give Mullis shit about being married, and baby makin practice with my girl Allison.
How did you find out about wakeBoardnashville.com?
Mullis
What is your wakeBoardnashville.com user name?
Meadows (yeah I know mr. original. I thought about J-dog but that idea was taken.) Sorry Troy I keep pickin on you.
What would you like to see from wakeBoardnashville.com in the
future?
Just stay alive. Meeting everyone from WBN has been great and I looked forward to more sets with many of you this summer.
What was your biggest wakeboarding accomplishment last season?
Landing my third invert.
Anything else you’d like to add or a shout out?
Big shout out to Andrew and Luke at TNT for helping me keep my boat on the water and sponsoring the WBN events. Mullis and Taylor for their patience and wisdom. And last but not least Hyatt and Troy for stepping in to keep WBN alive.
